Data we process
- Account information, including your email address and authentication data.
- Queries, chat sessions, filter criteria, and feedback you submit.
- Documents you upload and the report data produced from them.
- API-key metadata and administrative records associated with your account.
- Technical request data needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP address, timestamps, requested routes, and error information when recorded by the server or hosting infrastructure.
Why we process it
We process personal data only to:
- provide accounts, search, filtering, uploads, and API access;
- secure the service, prevent abuse, and investigate failures;
- respond to support, privacy, and security messages; and
- meet legal obligations that apply to the operators.
The legal bases are performance of the service requested by you, the operators’ legitimate interests in maintaining a secure service, and compliance with legal obligations where applicable.
Cookies and local storage
Babaika does not set cookies and does not load advertising or analytics trackers. The frontend uses your browser’s local storage for access and refresh tokens and for saved filter preferences. This storage is necessary for sign-in and requested product functionality; it is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Signing out removes authentication tokens. You can remove remaining local data by clearing site data in your browser.
Retention and sharing
Account data and user content are retained while needed to provide the service or until you delete them or request account deletion. Limited records may be retained for longer where reasonably necessary for security, dispute handling, or a legal obligation. Data is not sold and is not used for advertising.
Data may be processed by infrastructure providers used to host and secure Babaika, or disclosed where required by law. Access is limited to what is necessary for those purposes.
If a provider processes personal data outside the European Economic Area, the operators will use a transfer mechanism recognised by EU law, such as an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards. You may contact either operator for information about the safeguards relevant to your data.
Required data and automated decisions
An email address and password are required to create and use an account. Queries, filters, and documents are optional, but Babaika cannot provide the corresponding feature unless you submit them. The service does not use personal data to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may also complain to the data-protection authority responsible for your place of residence or work.
Send a request to either contact listed above. We may need to verify your identity.
